Mini Session Guide
I can’t wait to see you and watch the beauty that is your family together in front of my camera.
Here are just a few things to help your session run smoothly!
When to Arrive:
With this being a mini session, I have sessions booked back to back. I recommend you plan to arrive about 10 minutes early so you have a little bit of a "buffer" in case you end up running late. If you are late to the session, I cannot go past your end time to make up for it, so please keep that in mind!
Preparing your littles:
There are a few things that you can do before the session to help get the best photos. A full belly and a not over-tired little one can go a long way! Depending on your kids ages, you can tell them why these are important to you! And let kids of any age know that I am going to be nice, have fun, play some games and that you are looking forward to spending this time with them! Also, having a small little treat at the end never hurts (ie going to ice cream after, some sort of special treat that they don’t normally get:)).
The Session:
If you have worked with my before, you know that my go to style is documentary, so the posing will be more fluid - no stiff poses here! There will be some games, walking, talking, tickling! Hopefully you will end up leaving having had a great time!
Photo Delivery:
I will be taking one instant photo that you will get to take home on the day of the shoot! Just a fun little gift to put on your refrigerator :). The rest of the photos will be ready in 2-3 weeks and will be uploaded to a proofing website where you can download the full resolution images.
What to wear:
Most importantly – dress in something you feel comfortable and confident in. It will show in the photos.
You can wear coordinating clothes for the session, but don’t be overly “matchy.” Avoid plaid patterns of different colors, too many busy patterns, and logos. You can never go wrong with neutrals!
Avoid neon colors that may leave a color cast on faces and skin.
Shoes — Make sure they are clean, scuff-free and comfortable. Avoid flip flops and gym/running shoes.
Dress kids in clothes that are cute but comfortable in and you don’t mind if they get just a little dirty. There is a lot of running, playing, sitting, etc. during our sessions and we want the kids to have a great time!
Apple Watches and hair ties tend to make the photos less “clean” and “timeless” looking, avoid if possible
