You have found this one person (out of billions) who you love with all your heart. You are pledging to be with them for your entire life. Not just when you are mushy and in love (as I am sure you are right now), but when it’s hard – like down in the muck, changing diapers, not getting sleep hard. You’ll be together in beautiful golden moments too, like holding a squishy baby in your arms, and you’ll be together in the everyday of eating food and sitting around laughing.

Our Why.
Wedding days are dripping with meaning. There’s a familial meaning, there’s romantic meaning, there’s spiritual meaning, there’s so much wrapped up in this day between two people who love each other. I believe that there is so much more to a wedding than pretty pictures and decorations. Don’t get me wrong, I love to take pretty photographs, but I long to do so much more than that, I want to search for the moments that will stand the test of time.
I will see and photograph your mother crying as you walk down the aisle, as she thinks about all the years in between the day that she first held you and now. I want to see the groom as he first lays eyes on his bride and has no response besides to wear his love on his face. I want to see your grandmothers heirloom that you have incorporated into your wedding day and photograph it so you never forget how she wanted to be a part of your day. I want to see the way you laugh with your bridesmaids and groomsmen, your friends, the ones that you have loved through the years. Most of all I want to see and photograph the way it looks when two unique and beautiful souls in love commit themselves to loving one another for their entire lives. My job as a photographer isn’t to take photos that will get recognition, win awards, or go on blogs – our job is to take photographs that in some way document and preserve love.
Because that is the greatest story of all time - the story of love.

A little more about me.
Since everyone has a story, let me tell you a little bit about mine. And because I am a wedding and family photographer, I’ll tell you that piece. It begins over a decade ago, in the college town of Athens, Ohio. A deep feeling, verbally expressive, photography loving, Virginia girl meets a logical thinking, action taking, making things with his hands, Ohio boy. We met and fell in love early in our own individual stories. We were still discovering the main character (ourselves) and the Author (the Divine). Our story began as two stories, but on a hot summer day they mixed into OUR STORY.
Our story has many complex and beautiful characters, some who have been with us since our very earliest chapters, others who have come in and meandered out, and 3 who have joined us in ours, until one day when they step out into their own stories. Some chapters are beautiful and transendent - fillied with bellyfuls of laughter, others are laboring and challenging, filled with tears and deep sighs.
We have a story and we always hold it close to our hearts. It’s one of billions. One - just like yours.
